Upcoming Dog Event: Desert Dog Police K-9 Trials April 9th and 10th, 2011

The Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association (A.L.E.C.A.) in partnership with the Scottsdale, Mesa & Phoenix Police Departments, is happy to announce that Scottsdale Healthcare is once again joining as a proud sponsor of The Desert Dog Police K-9 Trials 2011. We would like to invite you to attend the DESERT DOG POLICE K-9 TRIALS, that will be held at the newly renovated Scottsdale Stadium, on April 9th & 10th, 2011.

During the weekend events, you will be able to observe many active Police, Military, Government and Security canine teams from around the nation competing in various field exercises. Most of the events will be timed for the purpose of a tiebreaker. Many of these teams will also be competing in various building exercises. Because the building, narcotics and explosives searches must take place in a controlled environment, we are unable to showcase this part of the competition. However, demonstrations will be performed during some of the intermissions. Vendors will be on site selling shirts, hats and other canine and police related products. Canine, SWAT and Fire Vehicles will be on display, hopefully even a Police Helicopter!

The events that the teams will be competing in include, Handler Protection, Tactical Building Search, Building Search, Agility / Obstacle course, Area Search, Narcotics and Explosives Search.

The annual Desert Dog Police K-9 Trials are not funded by any public funds. All costs associated with this event must be raised through donations, sales of program ad space or vendor booth fees. If you or your business would like to become involved in supporting or sponsoring these trials, setting up a vendor booth, advertising in the program, K-9 Team entry, or assisting your local K-9 unit, contact Owen Keefe at owen@desertdogk9trials, or sign up for our K-9 Team mailing list, vendor list or program ad and we will send you the information as soon as it becomes available.  More information here: http://www.desertdogk9trials.com/
