“If we let our Great Dane, Varel, off her leash she would be gone in a flash and it would be at least 20 minutes before she would be tired enough to decide to let us catch her. After working with Erin and Rob we can now enjoy walking her without her leash. We can tell she loves going to class, her tail never stops wagging. Our other Dane, K’Ehleyr, has also shown great improvement with her behavior issues and is continuing to improve. Both Erin and Rob have been able to provide us with a variety of techniques to find what will work best for each dog. We highly recommend them as trainers.”

Investing in training with Penny (a full-spirited 2 1/2 year old Brittany) has given me freedom I didn’t have with our older dog when she was young. With the older one, I was too worried and paranoid to ever let her off leash, except in a fully enclosed area (and I would spend time checking for holes in the fence!).
With Penny accustomed to the collar / remote system, I can walk laps around the park, get my exercise, and let her run… knowing that she’ll come back to me! So we both have fun. Sometimes I don’t even have to turn the system on.. she’s become conditioned to the collar.
Not long ago we had a dinner party. We shipped our older dog off to Grandpa’s house for the night but Penny stayed with us. She was so good at staying in her “place” that a guest said later … Oh – you have a dog?”
That was much less stressful than the jumping-up and food-stealing behaviors that might have happened without this training. We can entertain again!
I also like the consistency of the system. It works the same way, every time. If you fall out of practice, you can always get back to it. The classes are a great way to socialize your dogs with other doggie-clients and their families, and if the collar or remote needs to be replaced for any reason – Erin and Rob take care of it.
You don’t get that level of service from a pet-supply store!

Just got home with the dogs from one of my favorite hikes in San Diego. The trail is called Hollenbeck Canyon Trail and it’s located about 25 minutes east of downtown San Diego. The hillsides were green, and the foxtails hadn’t bloomed yet, so the we let the dogs run wild in the grass a bit. The creek was overflowing from all of the rain that we have had over the past few weeks, so we did get wet at the creek crossings. The trail hosts hiking, bicycling, and horses but today we just had dogs and people. We walked the out-n-back, which took a little more than an hour to complete. There is some great information about the trail here on www.trails.com
Here’s a map for anyone interested in the hike:
Have fun!
Hey Rob,
Zeta had your basic obedience skills (sit, stay, down, and leave it) far from mastered when we started and he now does them better outside with distractions than he ever did in the house with just me. Playing with toys was always a tug of war match between us, but now he will drop the toy on command.
I called for aggression issues at the door, where he would bark uncontrollably and there was no controlling him. The other day someone walked by, I told him to come, and he went and sat on his bed before I even gave the command. We are still practicing, but it’s rewarding to see the work paying off!
Thank you!
Melissa

Hello, I wanted to write a brief testimonial about my dog Chloe and the training I chose for her. She is a Pit Bull but does not know it. And I plan to keep it that way because I got her enrolled with two great trainers, Erin and Rob, a couple who are: Losetheleash.com with a great approach to training dogs, any kind, any issue, any age or breed.
It is a training with reward recognition for your dog, a training on how to get your dog’s attention and response to commands.
I have confidence that with their guidance and teaching me how to approach my dog’s different behavior challenges I will succeed in having the ability on doing what is needed for a happier Chloe.
Training is disciplining your dog how to behave and enjoy outdoor activities, be around other dogs and share their spaces, also training is disciplining us the owners/parents on what to do in any situation so that your pet can have a better and happier life.
Thank you.
Deborah Tebet, Chloe and Cowley too!
